COMING SOON: The New BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo

Production of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo 630d and 640i xDrive will start in July 2017.

Eight years after the launch of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, this versatile BMW vehicle will undergo an important development: November 2017 will see the new, coupé-style BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo replace the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo in the showrooms. More stylish and extravagant, it is bound to bring even more charisma to the executive segment. The new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo combines luxurious appeal with high-level touring comfort reflected in an unusually spacious cabin, an elevated seating position, impressive versatility and a level of agility that is amazing for a vehicle of this size. The modern BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo has a slightly lower silhouette than its predecessor. Considerably increased in length, it is also noticeably lighter, more agile and more powerful. Today’s Product News will tell you everything you need to know about the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and what makes it so unique in its class.

From BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo to BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.

The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, an exceptional, modern re-interpretation of the classic Gran Turismo concept, stunned the automotive world when it was introduced in 2009 and quickly found admirers in various markets. Up until then, there had been no car that combined the elegance of a prestigious sedan with a semi-command seating position and a spacious, luxurious and remarkably versatile interior. 2013 saw the introduction of the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo with similar features.

In a few months’ time, a new chapter in the history of the Gran Turismo will begin. In November, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo will replace the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, combining the versatile interior of its predecessor with a very modern, coupé-style design, larger dimensions (except for height), more comfort and luggage capacity along with enhanced driving dynamics – in short: a significant upgrade.

Modern and spacious, with the appeal of a luxury coupé.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo will introduce a breath of fresh air to the executive class, as it will be the only vehicle in this segment providing the spaciousness of a modern Gran Turismo as well as the kind of dynamism and sporting proportions which would well suit a large luxury coupé.

SMG Durban will keep you updated on further information and official launch dates for the exclusive unveiling of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.
